Department of Hindi
Madhavrao Patil Arts, Commerce and Science College, Palam, District Parbhani, was established in 1993. Since its establishment, the Department of Hindi has been rich, progressive, and academically active at the undergraduate level.
In accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the undergraduate Hindi programme was introduced from the academic year 2024–25. This programme is expected to have far-reaching positive effects on students’ lives and their employment-oriented careers.
The main objective of the curriculum is to introduce students to the interrelationship between literature and life, develop their interest in prose and poetry, and cultivate progressive life values. The programme also aims to develop among students a sense of national and global integration, provide opportunities for employment, and contribute to the creation of a value-based, knowledge-oriented, and equitable society.
Course Structure
The Department offers the following courses:
B.A., B.Com. and B.Sc. – Hindi as a Second Language
B.A. First Year – Optional Hindi
B.A. Second Year – Major and Minor Hindi
B.A. Third Year – Major and Elective Hindi, Field Research Project, and OJT

Students are also taught through audio-visual teaching methods to make the learning process more effective and interesting.
Research and Academic Achievements
The faculty members of the Hindi Department have published more than 80 research articles in reputed and recognized research journals approved by the UGC and the University. More than 50 research papers have been presented at various seminars, conferences, and academic programmes.
The faculty members have published approximately seven books. Prof. Dr. Sanjay Gadpayle served as a member of the Hindi Board of Studies during 2012–13, and under his guidance, three students successfully obtained their Ph.D. degrees.
Prof. Dr. Mohan Damre successfully completed a Minor Research Project. The Hindi Department has an independent and well-equipped departmental library. The faculty members of the Department hold Ph.D. degrees and possess approximately 29 years of undergraduate teaching experience.
